Trade fair PLMA 2023 in Amsterdam
From May 22nd to 24th we were active as an exhibitor at the PLMA trade fair in Amsterdam. At this world's largest private label event, we met customers, business partners and interested parties at our colourful and inviting booth under the motto "Inspirations & Solutions". With various collections of fragrances, essential oils and flavours, we were able to convince our numerous guests with competence and creativity. A great time for valuable conversations and highly informative exchange in an inspiring environment!

Support for “Help Mada”
Since the beginning of this year FREY&LAU supports with great pleasure the non-profit association "Help Mada e.V.". In this way, we would like to make a contribution to sustainably improving the quality of life of the people of Madagascar. About 80% of the population there live below the poverty line. What is particularly lacking is adequate medical care and educational opportunities. "Help Mada e.V." collects donations to build and expand schools and health stations. In addition, vanilla farmers are to be provided with an additional source of income through vegetable cultivation. FREY&LAU has been sourcing vanilla pods from Madagascar for decades, which we process at our site.

High-performance technologies for the finest essential oils. FREY&LAU possess an in-house distillation plant which is unique in the world and is developed for especially gentle processing of essential oils. As a result, we are able to guarantee our customers consistently high quality in the extraction, purification, fractionation and concentration of essential oils, as well as in the production of high-quality fractions for flavors and fragrances. Alongside validated processing methods within the pharmaceutical area, a consistent HACCP concept assures provable safety. Furthermore, our company is IFS-certified for foods and GMP-certified for medications.
Sourcing
FREY&LAU travels around the world to buy crude essential oils. For years, we have worked together in fair, responsible partnerships with our suppliers in the various countries where our essential oils originate. It’s these reliable supplier relationships which guarantee competitive prices and the permanent availability of oils. Regular purchasing trips to the growing regions strengthen strong local contacts and enable us to have special market proximity. Consequently, FREY&LAU customers receive information on current price developments early on, and we can also provide our help when it comes to important purchasing decisions. In addition to regularly auditing our suppliers, we employ specialized consultants who support our raw material suppliers in the qualification and certification of production systems, as well as in establishing harmonized quality management Systems.
Pharma / GMP
As a leading manufacturer of essential oils that are suitable as active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), we ensure compliance with the highest standards when it concerns consumer protection and product safety for use in pharmaceuticals. Within the scope of our manufacturing authorization pursuant to § 13 AMG (German Medicinal Products Act), our customers can be assured that we produce pharmaceutical semi-finished products under GMP I conditions. Our GMP certificate authorizes us to offer via our EGST range under GMP II eucalyptus oil GMP, turpentine oil GMP, peppermint oil GMP, as well as various other active ingredient oils. For the approval process, product registration and to facilitate a fast market launch of our customers’ products, we offer complete ASMF solutions and documentation packages, as well as stability tests according to ICH Guidelines.
Organic / BIO / NOP
The demand for organic products and ecologically certified ingredients is rising continuously. Frey + Lau serves this growing market segment with a large range of organically certified essential oils. In alignment with consumer demand for natural products, we also produce high-quality organic vanilla extracts on our own extraction systems. They are exceptionally well-suited for use in chocolates, dairy products, teas and in natural cosmetics. Our company is certified for organic products under the European Organic Regulation EU 834/2007 and NOP-certified in accordance with the National Organic Program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
