The new corporate design is NOW

From now on, you will experience FREY&LAU for communication at all levels with a new corporate design. With our new appearance, we show what makes us unique. FREY&LAU: a dynamic and creative developer of high-quality essential oils, flavours and fragrances.

The new look is a further step towards a successful future for our 180-year-old family business. In addition to the new appearance, other investments in new technologies and the expansion of our production facilities, such as the construction of another rectification plant at our Henstedt-Ulzburg production site, are of utmost importance for us. We will be able to distill essential oils even more gently for you and gain valuable components for natural flavours as well as fragrances. Furthermore, we are increasingly investing in our laboratories to develop individual and unique fragrance and taste experiences, true to our motto "Explore your Senses".

Premiere of „Open-doors Henstedt-Ulzburg“ – Students visiting FREY&LAU

The first trainee-tour stopped over at FREY&LAU: in two groups of 10 between the age of 15 to 17, students from Henstedt-Ulzburg were allowed to have a look at our production site and also did some flavour testing.

Human Resources employees Mrs Goral and Mr Martens planned various activities for the students. An interesting presentation about the company‘s history and portfolio, the flavour testing on green-coloured candy (well guessed – it was sweet woodruff) and a visit to our distillery was part of their tour. They visited the impressive destillery plant hygienicly dressed from head to toe. While they could watch how mintoil was produced, the destiller explained the process behind the impressive rectification plant.

With the CAPSO® technology, Frey + Lau has developed a groundbreaking process for manufacturing encapsulated flavor granules. The extraordinary matrix of the CAPSO® flavor granules and the innovative extrusion process ensures shelf life of at least three years, even for citrus flavors that are especially oxidation-sensitive. Their shelf life and water solubility make the granules exceptionally well-suited for flavored tea. The consumer enjoys the full flavor profile as a result, since the liquid flavor is gently integrated into the CAPSO® granule. The granules are characterized by their first-rate mechanical stability, easy handling and very low hygroscopy. We have a very extensive range of different flavors in various sizes, colors and shapes, permanently in stock.

Full flavor at the right time: Our proprietary CAPSOPEARL® flavor granules are produced in the form of high-quality pearls. The flavor is only released when they contact water. As a result of their extremely long shelf life and high solubility in hot and cold liquids, these granules are very well suited for flavoring fine-cut tea, tea blends, coffee and instant beverages. CAPSOPEARL® flavor granules are distinguished by high mechanical stability and excellent flowing properties, allowing them to be optimally processed. We produce CAPSOPEARL® flavor granules for our customers in all conceivable flavor varieties, from bergamot to spearmint, from natural pear to wild berry.

CAPSOFLAKE®


Flavorful flakes: Frey + Lau developed the CAPSOFLAKE® flavor granules especially for flavoring fruit and herbal teas, both fine cut and medium cut. Due to their green, blue-violet and brown colors, the flavor flakes in the tea blend are not visible to the consumer’s eye. They are also ideal for flavoring tea blends in pyramid bags. As a result of their special matrix, CAPSOFLAKES® always remain dimensionally stable during transport and processing..

CAPSOSTICK®


Full flavor is the peak of enjoyment: Due to their needle-like shape, CAPSOSTICK® flavor granules from Frey + Lau are especially used for flavoring rooibos tea. For the fast-growing pyramid bag segment, CAPSOSTICK® flavor granules also offer many advantages. Due to their size and shape, they cannot be differentiated from the tea blend itself. The dyed flavor granules are available in brown or black and do not change the color of the tea bag.

CAPSOLEAF®


Flavorsome leaves: With our largest CAPSO® flavor granules, we have recreated the shape of a tea leaf. CAPSOLEAF® flavor granules are perfect for flavoring black, fruit and green teas, both coarse cut and medium cut. Despite their large surface, they have a shelf life of at least three years. CAPSOLEAFS® are available in violet-red, green, brown or black. The colored granules do not change the color of the tea bag in the final product.
